the iPhone 4S is out

Today, October 4 Apple presented the long awaited new iPhone. But instead of the iPhone 5 Apple presented the iPhone 4S. It is the fourth generation of the iPhone and succeeds the iPhone 4 as the latest model of the iPhone. It will be released on October 14, 2011, in the United States, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, France, Germany and Japan after being announced on October 4 at Apple’s “Let’s Talk iPhone” event at the Town Hall, 4 Infinite Loop.

The iPhone 4S has a dual core A5 processor, similar to the iPad 2 and Motorola Xoom and will have the all new iOS 5. Other features the iPhone 4S debuted include an 8 megapixel camera compared to the 5 megapixel on the iPhone 4 with now 1080p video recording. Video and photo editing is now available and in iOS 5 with features such as crop, auto enhance and red eye reduction. Taking a photo can now also be accessed via the lock screen by double clicking the “Home” button and the volume up button can now also be used to take a photo on any device using iOS 5. As well the iPhone 4S has a 2 megapixel front camera.

The Display is a 3.5 inch Retina display with a resolution of 640×960 at 326 ppi. The phone comes with 1GB internal memory and a storage of 16GB, 32GB or 64 GB. It weighs 136g.

A new automated voice control system called “Siri” allows the user to give the iPhone commands which it can execute and respond to. An intellugent assistant that’s there to help. Such as “What is the weather going to be like?” will generate a response such as “weather is to be cloudy and rainy and drop to 60 degrees today”. Use your voice to send messages, set reminders, search for information and more.

The new iPhone 4S has dual antennas so both antennas on the sides of the iPhone are able to either submit or receive signal.
